Today we would like to talk about Descriptive text and the difference between Descriptive text vs Report text. Don't think it will be difficult for you because we already design this post easy to understanding.
Now for the first we talk about the definition of descriptive,Descriptive text is a text that describes things like people, animals and places based on reality and characteristics of each object to be described. Its purpose is to describe and reveal a particular person, place, or thing in specific order.

Descriptive text has structure as below:
1.Identification: identifying the phenomenon to be described.
2.Description: describing the phenomenon in parts, qualities, or/and characteristics.

Characteristic of descriptive text:
Using attributive and identifying process.
Using adjective
Using simple present tense.

Music Box (example)

Music boxes are small instrument that play tunes by themselves. The music-making parts of a music box are a cylinder and a row of metal teeth of different lengths. A spring or a set of wheels turns the cylinder.

And now we must know about report because we want to know the difference about both of the text that we discuss,Report is a text which presents information about something, as it is and the result come from systematic observation and analysis,but still in the general.

Report text has structure as below: 
1. General classification: Stating classification of general aspect of thing; animal, public place, plant, etc which will be discussed in general
2. Description: Describing the thing which will be discussed in detail; part per part , customs or deed for living creature and usage for materials


Characteristic of Report text:
• Using conditional logical connection; when, so, etc
• Using simple present tense

Music (example)

Music is sound put into pleasing or interesting patterns. People use music for a part of ceremonies, such as religious services, parades, and weddings. People also use music to show their feelings and ideas.

Conclusion: 
 Some types of text that is difficult to be different. The report and descriptive text have the similarity in social function and generic structure. But if they are analyzed carefully, with little difference between the two types of text will reveal. 
The purpose of the two texts is to provide an overview of the object / person. Both the report and descriptive text try to show rather than tell the reader about the factual condition of the object. What makes the different between report and descriptive text, is the scope of the object to be written in general or specific. If we are talking about, ex: bicycle, it belongs to report text. It will talk about bikes in general, parts, physical strengh, function for certain people or other public character of the bike. On the other hand, descriptive text will convey more focus, such as "bicycle" with a specific character, color, length, style wheels, etc.
In short, news text illustrates how certain things and frequently refer to the phenomenon of natural objects, animals and science. Mostly, this report was written after getting careful observation and descriptive text in showing how it is based on the objective facts of the case, specifically of course. ^ _ ^
